About 2008 Jeep Commander
For 2008, Jeep Commander adds an all-new 4.7L V-8 Flexible Fuel Vehicle engine (not available in Maine, N.Y., Vt., Mass., Calif.) that delivers a 30 percent increase in horsepower, a 10 percent increase in torque, and improved fuel economy of more than five percent compared to the engine it replaces. A 3.7-liter V-6 provides standard power, with the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 still available. Engines mate to varying levels of 5-speed automatic transmissions.
Several innovative technologies are new (some standard, some optional), including the all-new SIRIUS Backseat TV, MyGIG Multimedia Infotainment System, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, 115-volt power inverter, iPod interface, tilt and telescoping steering column with integrated Electronic Vehicle Information Center controls on steering wheel, Rear Back-up Camera (available without navigation system), 8-inch DVD screen with rear video entertainment system, two-row, five-passenger seating option and Trailer Sway Control.
